The martyrdom and heavenly ascent of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei—a model of faith, courage, and insight—has left the Iranian nation in mourning. He devoted his life to Islam and the Revolution, stood resolutely in the face of conflict, intimidation, and threats, followed the example of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), and courageously chose the path of martyrdom. I extend both congratulations and condolences to the people of Iran on this profound loss and the martyrdom of our beloved leader. Such a momentous and blessed destiny befits men of God; nothing but martyrdom could have been a more fitting conclusion to a lifetime of struggle, dignity, devotion to values, steadfast principles, and service to faith and humanity.
