Sajjad Zakeri, CEO of Rah Gostar Naft: Precise Coordination Among Project Stakeholders Ensures Successful Delivery of the Azar Oil Field Development Plan
According to the Public Relations Department of Rah Gostar Naft Company, a kickoff meeting for the construction of well sites and access roads for Wells P26, P31, and P36 at the Azar Oil Field was held with Sajjad Zakeri, CEO of Rah Gostar Naft, and Behzad Valipour, CEO of Azar Oil Field Development Operations Company, along with deputies, project managers, and specialists from both companies, at the offices of Azar Oil Field Development Operations Company. As the first formal meeting following signature of the execution contract between client and contractor, the session was intended to coordinate all project stakeholders, review execution requirements, define communication mechanisms, and plan the start of site operations.
At the start of the meeting, participants reviewed the latest site conditions, execution circumstances, schedule, technical requirements, and initial site-mobilization needs. They discussed the main challenges and ways to accelerate the start of execution. Key project personnel—including the Project Manager, client representatives, supervising consultant, and specialist leads—were introduced, and communication and coordination processes were explained to establish a foundation for rapid decisions, accurate information transfer, and coordinated delivery from the earliest stages. The meeting also reviewed key project documents, execution drawings, the scope of services, contractual requirements, material and machinery procurement plans, and the earthworks methodology. Necessary coordination was completed for mobilizing heavy machinery, establishing the site facilities, and beginning field operations.
Referring to the project’s strategic importance to Azar Oil Field infrastructure, Sajjad Zakeri, CEO of Rah Gostar Naft, stated: “A project kickoff meeting is the starting point for coordination and collaboration among all execution stakeholders. The more precise and integrated this coordination is at the outset, the higher the quality, the faster the delivery, and the lower the project risk.” Emphasizing Rah Gostar Naft’s experience in civil and oil projects, Zakeri added: “Drawing on domestic specialists, suitable machinery, and a successful record in infrastructure execution, Rah Gostar Naft will apply its full capabilities to deliver this project in accordance with the schedule, technical standards, and HSE requirements. Our objective is not merely to execute a contract, but to contribute effectively to developing the infrastructure of one of the country’s most important oil fields.”
Referring to the shared nature of the Azar Oil Field, Sajjad Zakeri stated: “Accelerating infrastructure development at this field will facilitate drilling and production while making a significant contribution to protecting national interests and increasing recovery from a shared field. This responsibility makes precise and timely execution even more important.” At the end of the meeting, both companies emphasized continued coordination meetings, ongoing progress monitoring, and timely removal of execution obstacles so operations could proceed into the field stage in accordance with the approved schedule.
As one of Iran’s shared oil fields, Azar has a special place in the oil industry’s development program. This project will play an important role in creating the infrastructure required to deploy equipment, facilitate drilling, reduce the delivery time of future projects, and improve the productivity of field-development operations.
