Sajjad Zakeri, CEO of Rah Gostar Naft: Effective coordination among all project stakeholders is essential to the successful implementation of the Azar Oil Field development project.
According to Rah Gostar Naft’s Public Relations Department, the kickoff meeting for the construction of well sites and access roads for wells P-26, P-31 and P-36 at the Azar Oil Field was held at the headquarters of the Azar Oil Field Development Operations Company.
The meeting was attended by Sajjad Zakeri, CEO of Rah Gostar Naft; Behzad Valipour, CEO of the Azar Oil Field Development Operations Company; as well as deputies, project managers and technical experts from both companies.
As the first formal meeting following the signing of the project contract between the client and contractor, the session was held to establish coordination among all project stakeholders, review execution requirements, define communication procedures and prepare for the commencement of field operations.
Execution Requirements and Project Mobilization Reviewed
During the opening session, participants reviewed the latest conditions at the project site, execution requirements, the approved schedule, technical specifications and the initial requirements for site mobilization.
The attendees also discussed the project’s main execution challenges and measures required to accelerate the commencement of field activities.
Key project personnel—including the project manager, client representatives, supervising consultant and heads of specialist units—were formally introduced during the meeting. Communication procedures and coordination mechanisms among the various project stakeholders were also defined.
These arrangements are intended to facilitate timely decision-making, ensure the accurate exchange of information and support the coordinated implementation of project activities from the outset.
The meeting also addressed key project documents, execution drawings, the scope of work, contractual requirements, plans for procuring construction materials and heavy machinery, and the procedures for carrying out earthworks.
At the conclusion of the session, the parties completed the necessary coordination for the deployment of heavy machinery, site mobilization and the commencement of construction activities at the project location.
Sajjad Zakeri: Coordination Is Essential to Successful Project Delivery
Speaking at the meeting, Sajjad Zakeri, CEO of Rah Gostar Naft, highlighted the strategic importance of the project in developing infrastructure at the Azar Oil Field.
“The project kickoff meeting marks the beginning of coordinated cooperation and operational synergy among all parties involved,” Zakeri said. “We believe that the more precise and structured this coordination is at the beginning of the project, the greater the quality and speed of execution will be, while operational risks will also be reduced.”
Referring to Rah Gostar Naft’s experience in civil-engineering and oil-industry projects, he added: “Drawing on the capabilities of domestic specialists, appropriate machinery and its successful experience in infrastructure projects, Rah Gostar Naft will deploy its full capacity to execute this project in accordance with the approved schedule, technical standards and HSE requirements.”
“Our objective is not limited to fulfilling a contractual obligation,” Zakeri continued. “We aim to make an effective contribution to the development of infrastructure at one of Iran’s most important oil fields.”
Infrastructure Development Supports National Interests
Referring to the shared status of the Azar Oil Field, Zakeri emphasized the importance of accelerating infrastructure development at the field.
“Accelerating the development of infrastructure at the Azar Oil Field will facilitate drilling and production operations and contribute significantly to protecting national interests and increasing recovery from a shared oil field,” he stated. “This responsibility further underscores the importance of precise and timely project execution.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, both companies emphasized the need to continue coordination sessions, closely monitor project progress and address execution obstacles promptly to ensure that field operations proceed in accordance with the approved schedule.
The Azar Oil Field is one of Iran’s major shared oil fields and holds a significant position in the country’s oil-industry development plans.
Construction of the required well sites and access roads will provide essential infrastructure for equipment deployment, facilitate drilling operations, reduce the execution time of future projects and improve the overall efficiency of development activities at the field.
